Considerations While Test Soaking

Jets: How powerful do you want/need the jets to be? Are you looking for jets to target more of your upper or lower back? Or, are you looking for nice circulation with mild power? Just because a hot tub has many jets doesn’t also mean the performance is sustainable. If it doesn’t have a powerful enough motor to deliver a deep massage, you’ll eventually be disappointed. Remember, you can always get a gentle massage from powerful jets. But you’ll never get a powerful message from under-performing motors. All of these factors are something to consider when testing our hot tubs.

Comfort: This feature is very important and something to feel out when rotating between brands and series. Are the seats fitting you and your fellow hot tubbers correctly? In most spas, the depth of the seats are multi-level, so move around and try each seat. The water depth needs to be over the shoulders, so on cold, snowy, and rainy days everyone is warm.

Size: Besides the space needed for the family, the size of the spa will need to fit in the area where it is to be installed. When soaking, keep in mind the number of people that will be using the hot tub most often. Are you a family of 5 with small children? Or, are you going to be the only one enjoying the hot tub most of the time?

Spa Noise: Your peace & quiet will be disrupted if the noise of the spa is irritating. Listen to the sound level when the water is just circulating, heating, filtering, and when the jets are running. Noise can also determine the area in which the spa is being installed, such as it may not be a good idea to have it set outside an office or baby’s room.

Appearance: Your hot tub is going to be placed in your own backyard oasis, so the look of the hot tub is also important. This includes not only the outside cabinet look but also the inside color and functions.

Variety is GOOD: Test more than one spa! Every spa will probably feel great at first, but there are huge differences that you won’t notice until you experience a spa in action and then compare. The great thing about our Mood Room is the fact that we have at least 6 hot tubs up and running for your benefit. From the Fantasy line of “plug-and play” spas to the most elite of options in our Caldera Utopia series; there will be options to look forward to in each and every hot tub that you test soak.

We invite you to come take a wet test at your convenience, but we do require you to schedule an appointment so we can ensure your privacy and room availability. Call us at (317) 773-3545 to schedule your appointment. Recreation Unlimited has been proudly serving the Indianapolis community for over 25 years, and we look forward to helping you and your family find the perfect hot tub!
